It sound westernized to me compared to indigenous music here (traditional). But I love it.  Very islander style music.  It reminds me more of fiji than Aotearoa. When we disembarked at the Nandi airport, a musician welcomed us all. It was neat: it thrilled me much to tell you the truth. However touristy of course it was.
