I think this is what I will cook. We have not eaten meat in a dish for a while (except sandwiches). There is a recipe for a favourite dish, meatballs, in the book. She makes it with veal but I never eat that, too young an animal. I will make it with pork I think.

Hubby is shaving. The day is super nice. A plane is crossing the sky above our roofs. Very low. ouch, that is loud. I have submitted two creative nonfiction to a fiddlehead contest. The nunnery story and the snowhoeing alone story. I get a year subscription to the mag with my submission of 45$ for two texts. I had to wait until i had the money to submit. I used to like Fiddlehead mag of poetry. It comes from Nova scotia I think, Fredericton or Halifax. I also submitted regular subs to them, 6 poems. And I have submitted to CV2 as well as Room mag. It is almost like a curse how NONE of my poetry and fiction is ever picked up for publication since 2014.

UPDATE

I went to do a small grocery next door, at the expensive grocery store because the meat is nicer there. It cost 50$ for 14$ worth of chicken breasts and 8$ worth of italian sausages, panko crumbs, parsley, veggie broth in a paste that goes in the fridge, puff pastry dough frozen (for the Mushrooms hot pie this week), 4 lemons, olives tapenade or spread for the rye bread etc. Not bad. we have quite a bit of food. The bigger grocery hopefully wont cost more than 150$. Then it is 200$ for two weeks of basic food and that is excellent. We supplement throughout the second week.
