making my own liquors, basic style, on allrecipes.com.

I made peppermint shnapps for all my family which I bottled and even a quince liquor for dad which macerated for a few months. I made baileys with eggs (old granny Z recipe on allrecipes.com) and even coffee liquor very tasty.  Mostly using vodka as a basis or whiskey. That is THE nun or monk skill I recommend to all my holy drunk friends to try out. It is much fun and you can have flashes of alchemy while mixing and cooking all the ingredients. Many monks in France specialise in liquors (chartreuse is my favourite) and making chocolate very divine. This is the Christian tradition. I think Jaggermeister, now that I did get VERY drunk for about a year in my twenties, is the german monk tradition. Never got drunk on chartreuse: too expensive...ah ah ah...for real. It is simply a sipper, very grassy.
