I would say a young bear from last year.

Billy was thankfully on leash and did not see him or her anyway.

He was at the start of austin trail, by the city work yard site, chewing on grass and such.

I am glad we were not too close, about 20 metres.

Rather smaller bear, a female no doubt.

The bears have awoken! :)
