The whole issue of having to have a cat INDOOR only in BC to adopt at the spca or any cat rescue is troubling me. Should cats truly be allowed otuside only under supervision and on leash? I am looking at ways to train your cat to never wander before letting them unsupervised and unleashed in the hood. The views differ on what is the best for a cat. We are willing to take the risk of having our cat injured but at least she tastes freedom. But people make such a fuss about outdoor indoor cats unleashed in BC everywhere that I am all stressed out now about having another cat. Tummo lived to almost 15 years old with us from Toronto, to Montreal, to Surrey to Coquitlam. She was an indoor outdoor cat all her life starting at 6 months old, once she was spayed. Those were amazing years of health and freedom for her!
