I had a chat with BJG: he underestimates the power of faith of tibetans in india and around the world in their dalai lama to come. The 14th says he leaves it to tibetans to decide whethere there will be more dalai lamas or not after him. I find that a bit disappointing from him but whatever.

He may truly simply believe no dalai lama will ever be as good as him? Maybe.
