It took 3 hours , door to door and done deal.
They have us wait for about 1.5 hour standing in line, no chairs. Then 20 minutes sitting.
My clerk was so nice, muslim headscarf beautiful lady. I wanted to know more about her background but refrained of course from asking. I am nobody: if everyone asks her that, how bloody tiring and a bit rude maybe even! Certainly nosy.
So we laughed instead and did the formalities. Lovely.
But when I got home after that, I really needed to shake the cobwebs of such horrible places to visit. I hate hate government offices with cubicules. I taught to business people who worked in such conditions too in mississaugua, Ontario, around 2005. I feel totally crushed every time I must stay a few hours in such building. My dad worked in such place for about 30-35 years. By the end he had secured a window and grew a small garden on the sill.
