It is HIS old life and he must pay for his sins.

I truly hope he wont care in the end that much and know he kissed Jesus. It IS the gutted eye touch order that won him over. He ONLY ONLY ONLY knows evil. He must be quite tortured because he must find God after he has kissed jesus.
