Poem first draft by ai, minimal human touch

Laurel, a wanderer, wild and free,

Crossed Austin street,  with a feline glee,

Visited doors, where danger might be,

Yet love's sweet call, he'd answer, wild and ready.

With eyes like embers, bright and bold,

He'd chase the birds, young and old,

Mundy Park's paths, he knew so well,

A two-year trained student, home at breakfast's bell.

Though risks were high, his heart was true,

A lovable rogue, with a spirit anew,

In stories told, his legend will thrive,

A life of joy, though brief, it survived.

In memory's garden, you'll forever roam.

*This does not look like a sonnet after review though I had asked for one.Oh well- I will have to write on from scratch. I changed about 6 things in the poem by ai based on my info about laurel and I changed the word 'carefree' by the ai with 'ready' by me, on the fourth line... Much much better than being 'carefree' in love though young!
