This high ranked Teacher of meditation left all his privileges for 4 and half year in 2011 to leave the monatsery, incognito, and go live as an anonymous beggar in Bod Gaya, following the Hindu Saddhu tradition. I just bought his retelling of the first 10 weeks of this wandering retreat life he did. The book is called 'In love with the world'.
This book makes me think that I should retell my own homeless life of a month in 2006 in Toronto in a short tale, like my travels tales. I think it would be a great idea to write about this month on the street in Fall 2006. Minus the police brutality because it is too traumatizing to recall and retell at all. I was thinking of ending my tale there, on the street, without saying how I got out of it. What do you think?
