Quote from Chogyam Trungpa
'Obviously, Great Eastern Sun vision does not mean that the good people win all the time in plays or films. It is not that simple-minded. For instance, there are stories in the Buddhist tradition about the Great Bodhisattva, the courageous being, being eaten and recycled, and that seems to be okay. Similarly, in the Bible we have the crucifixion and resurrection, but still uplifted vision continues. So Great Eastern Sun vision, versus vision based on fear—which we call the vision of the setting sun—is not about whether somebody physically wins a victory, but whether psychologically a sense of vision and wakefulness is continued.'
