I could not understand why she said single on her facebook page.

I finally found the answer in his obituary. This couple is THE definition of marriage for LOVE. I went to their wedding though I was in hospital, quite weak, at the time. In 2005 or 2006 I think. It was perfect! They have two wonderful children whom I never really met as we lost touch after a few years. Still, Dan's memory lives on for me too: he was so amazingly in love with  his  great wife and,  no doubt, amazing kids. The gentlest, never mean yet funny ha ha friend ever. I am in shock and terrified for his wife and kids. But maybe I should not be. She is far more resilient than I could ever contemplate ever being if I lost hubby.  May she find peace and may their, her and her husband and kids', lOVE accompany her all her life and her kids life. I take refuge in the buddha, the dhamma and the sangha and in the Lord above us all. May my friend's life be blessed with unexpected peace and harmony and calm contentment eventually thanks to her family, kids and friends. He is irreplaceable.

Thanks Dan for the nice chat you had with me when I was hobbo near the Gem. Your wife is right: your genuine compassion and empathy and wisdom was always brilliant for all. May you travel on until next stop to see us again. Amen! Om mani peme hung Om mani peme hung
