Sadness at home but also, looking at the world. Some poor soul who got it all worng posted a photo of the eldest, 70, in the walk for peace monks. She called him loud and proud 'a fighter' and she put a little soldier helmet next to this sentence, as pictogram.
Why? She said because he has been a monk for 50 years and doing the walk at his age. He had not given up'. Her choice of word is so inapt and totally wrong though. She talks of figting, and he talks of peace. She could not have misunderstood his message more and the point of being a peaceful being. THis makes me infinitely sad to see such a confused woman.
I read a lot on buddhist sites and some of it is just empty words. People saying 'I love unconditionally' as a mantra, to themselves. That is not going to do shit, I am afraid to say to such bimbos. To love unconditionally, you must be prepared to suffere unconditionally and for no fault of your own except maybe kamma, if you believe in this. Few people I know are capable of this sentiment to the extremes that is required for others, when push comes to shove. Yet they all go around like superficial bimbos saying 'I love unconditionally'. This is delusion and no self knowledge. Maybe Buddha loves like that and Jesus for sure who sacrificed his Life for his message to reach out to humanity. Maybe some parents feel this emotion. But most people dont exhibit any of such depth of love: the self sacrificing kind.
