When the wolrd become violent, fearing God protects us from sinning even though we may become crazy with hatred and fear about everyone.

God is THE only teacher forever, okay. So in truth, he is super duper nice and never ever mean. But this samsaric world IS cruel, vicious and nasty at times and to fear God brings us simply closer to his bosom in such a world.
